Antonela Roccuzzo captured attention with a leopard print bikini photo on Instagram just before Argentina's first match in the 2026 World Cup. The image features her reclining on a sun lounger, wearing a brown hat designed by Ukrainian brand Ruslan Baginskiy.

Roccuzzo, who is married to Lionel Messi, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, is supporting him as he participates in his sixth World Cup tournament. Argentina, the reigning World Cup champions, are set to face Algeria at 2am UK time on Wednesday.

The Instagram post attracted over 2.3 million likes and comments praising Roccuzzo's tanned and toned appearance. Fellow WAGs Sofia Balbi, spouse of Luis Suarez, and Elena Galera, wife of Sergio Busquets, reacted with heart emojis.

Messi is expected to make history by becoming the first player to officially compete in six World Cup tournaments. Cristiano Ronaldo and Guillermo Ochoa are also participating in their sixth tournaments; however, Messi will be the first to reach this milestone, with Portugal playing on Wednesday evening and Ochoa serving as backup to Mexico's Raul Rangel.

Should Messi play against Algeria, he will reach 200 appearances for Argentina. He has scored 13 World Cup goals, three fewer than the all-time record held by Germany's Miroslav Klose.

After Argentina's final friendly match against Iceland, Messi expressed initial doubts about playing in the 2026 World Cup. He said, "There had been doubts because of what I said at the previous World Cup, that I thought it would be difficult for me to play in another one because so many years had to pass."

He added that he is "excited as ever" with the chance for Argentina to become the first team since Brazil in 1958 and 1962 to win consecutive World Cup titles. Messi stated, "But I kept feeling good and taking things day by day. I had the opportunity to play, get into rhythm, get minutes on the pitch and gradually feel better. It happened naturally. I'm happy, enjoying every moment and now I'm also as excited as ever."

The couple has three children together, and Antonela was recently seen wearing a T-shirt featuring Messi's face.
