Hansi Flick insists the Champions League is decided in June, maintaining optimism after Barcelona's 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Hansi Flick refused to let a 4-2 Champions League setback against Paris Saint-Germain derail his squad’s title ambitions. The Barcelona manager dismissed pessimism, arguing that early-season losses do not determine final outcomes. He emphasized that the competition remains open, stating firmly that "the Champions League will be decided in June."
Despite the heavy scoreline, Flick maintained a positive outlook on his team’s capacity for improvement. He acknowledged the errors committed against the French side but insisted they should not overshadow the match’s constructive elements. "We have to analyse the match, but I saw some very good things, and other things we need to develop," he said during his post-match press conference. The coach added that he did not want to be negative, viewing the encounter as a valuable experience for identifying areas of growth.
Flick conceded that Barcelona lost their structural balance in the closing minutes once the score reached 3-2. This collapse allowed Paris Saint-Germain to exploit spaces and extend their lead by two goals. The German highlighted that conceding four times requires scrutiny of defensive positioning and the distances between players. He stressed the need for greater calm and tighter cohesion between the lines to avoid such vulnerabilities against elite opponents.
Joan Garcia received praise from Flick despite the four goals conceded, having saved several dangerous efforts. The manager also noted that his team created chances they failed to convert effectively. With Real Madrid arriving for the La Liga Clasico next Sunday, Barcelona has minimal time to recover from the sting of the Paris defeat.
