Apple accidentally leaks AI assistant for office apps
Apple inadvertently revealed a new generative AI assistant for its office suite, targeting Creator Studio subscribers and requiring iOS 27.

Apple unintentionally disclosed a feature enabling the integration of generative artificial intelligence tools within its office applications. The company published a temporary update on its digital store before rapidly withdrawing it to restore the apps to their previous state.
Smart Assistant targets Creator Studio users
Details from the leaked release indicate the upcoming feature is named "Smart Assistant." It exclusively targets paid subscribers of the "Creator Studio" platform. Running the beta version requires the anticipated operating system, iOS 27.
The new assistant grants smart device users the ability to draft, organize, edit, and adjust document formatting. It also generates images and shapes through simple human-language commands, with options to search for updated information and automatically insert it into texts.
Integration eliminates app switching
Apple plans to embed this technology directly into the Pages word processing application, Numbers spreadsheet software, and Keynote presentation tool. This strategy removes the necessity of leaving these programs to complete intelligent tasks, effectively ending the era of navigation between separate applications.
This sudden move occurs as Apple seeks to expand the competitive value of its creative platform, Creator Studio. Launched in early 2026 with monthly and annual subscriptions, the service includes advanced programs such as Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for audio production, and Photosator for image modification.
Chasing Google Gemini capabilities
Although the platform currently offers professional templates and tools for image design and document animation, its existing artificial intelligence capabilities have failed to match the integrated Gemini ecosystem found in Google’s competing work environment.
American stores experienced confusion after three applications temporarily disappeared before reappearing in their traditional version 15.4.1. Current subscribers noticed no trace of the new assistant during this period.
This disorder suggests Apple mistakenly published details of a future upgrade before completing the tool integration or stabilizing the system. Consequently, the official launch date and global availability details remain suspended until further notice.
Service revenue expansion strategy
Broadening artificial intelligence tools represents part of Apple’s strategy to grow service revenues through subscriptions. The company aims to diversify income sources alongside device sales.
In the United States, the Creator Studio subscription costs $12.99 per month or $129 annually. Pages, Numbers, and Keynote applications remain available for free, while certain advanced features and premium content are restricted to subscribers.
