Olise Receives Neymar’s Signed Shirt After 7-0 Union Berlin Hat-Trick

Bayern Munich defeated Union Berlin 7–0, with Michael Olise scoring a hat-trick and registering two assists. The 25-year-old Frenchman was named man of the match—the fourth time he has received that distinction in his first seven competitive appearances this season.

The match ball, awarded under club tradition for hat-tricks, went to Olise alongside the official man-of-the-match award. A third item awaited him in the mixed zone: a Neymar shirt bearing a personal dedication. Brazilian forward Neymar arranged for journalist Isabela Pagliari to deliver it during her visit to the Allianz Arena.

Olise had previously named Neymar—as well as Lionel Messi and Zinedine Zidane—as one of his idols. Neymar’s most successful period came at Barcelona. He is now playing for Santos, his hometown club.

Olise’s Seasonal Output So Far

Olise has accumulated 11 goal involvements across his seven competitive matches this season—equating to one every 51 minutes played. His performance against Union marked his fourth man-of-the-match selection in those games.

Harry Kane said: “I really enjoy playing with Michael, and I like him a lot as a person too. Not everyone gets to see his true personality, but he is a great character. He is completely different from how he appears to outsiders.” Olise is widely regarded as reserved in media settings; following the Union Berlin match, he declined an interview request from Sky. Team-mate Jamal Musiala stood in for him and remarked with a smile: “That is what I am here for.”

Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl stated: “For me, Michael Olise is also one of the candidates for the Ballon d’Or. He is one of the best players in the world.” The current favourites for the award include Kane, Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Rodri.
