The fourth matchday of the UEFA Nations League opened with eight fixtures across Leagues A, B, and D. Portugal claimed a 2-1 win against Norway, marking their fourth consecutive victory in the competition. Other notable results included Netherlands defeating Serbia and Germany drawing with Greece.

Key outcomes from the weekend

In League A Group 4, Portugal hosted Norway at home. The hosts triumphed 2-1 thanks to goals from Joao Cancelo and Gonçalo Ramos. Kristoffer Ajer scored the lone goal for the visitors. This result ensures Portugal remains unbeaten with four wins from four games.

Netherlands also recorded a home victory in League A Group 2, beating Serbia 2-1. Teun Koopmeiners and Joshua Zirkzee netted for the Dutch side, while 19-year-old Mihajlo Cvetkovic provided Serbia’s sole response.

Germany held by Greece

Also within League A Group 2, Germany traveled to face Greece under manager Jurgen Klopp. The two sides played out a 0-0 draw. This follows Germany’s earlier 1-0 home defeat to Greece in the previous encounter.

Denmark secured a 1-0 away win against Wales in League A Group 4, adding to the day’s victories for the top-tier teams.

Protest marks Ireland-Israel clash

The League B Group 3 fixture between Ireland and Israel ended in a 1-1 draw. The match took place in Serbia. Irish players wore black armbands to honor those who lost their lives in Gaza, mirroring their action in the first meeting.

During the Israeli national anthem, Irish players bowed their heads. No handshake ceremony occurred between the two squads prior to kickoff.
