Following a decisive performance on Tuesday evening, Jude Bellingham declared Harry Kane the finest footballer to ever represent England. The captain’s contribution was pivotal during the Nations League clash against the Czech Republic at Wembley Stadium.

Kane matches Shilton’s appearance record

The forward reached 125 caps for the Three Lions, equalling Peter Shilton’s long-standing mark for most appearances. His inclusion in the starting lineup marked this historic milestone. During the match, Kane functioned as the central figure of the squad, netting two goals and providing one assist.

Vladimir Coufal inadvertently directed Kane’s cross into his own goal, adding to the striker’s statistical impact. Teammate Bellingham and manager Thomas Tuchel both highlighted the significance of the display immediately after the final whistle.

Bellingham praises Kane’s dual role

Speaking to ITV, Bellingham emphasized Kane’s character off the pitch alongside his technical dominance. He described the captain as an "unbelievable human being" who supports every individual within the group. According to Bellingham, Kane consistently assumes responsibility away from the field.

"On the pitch he's the best England player to have worn the shirt," Bellingham stated. He noted that playing alongside Kane is an honor. The midfielder observed that Kane operates at an unmatched level, scoring freely while also dropping deep to create chances and making tackles.

Tuchel responded with a smile when asked about the striker’s consistency. The manager indicated that such performances are expected but not taken for granted. He characterized Kane as exceptional in every single match, noting the difficulty in finding adequate words to describe him.

England secures quarter-final path

Kane exited the game late, receiving a standing ovation from the home crowd. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the Leeds forward, replaced him as England maintained their lead. The team concluded the fixture with a routine 3-0 victory.

This result builds upon a 2-0 win in Prague during the reverse fixture and a 7-0 triumph over Croatia earlier in the campaign. These outcomes place Tuchel’s side second in Group A3. Spain currently leads the group after defeating England 3-2 in the opening match of the international window.

England now requires only to avoid an 8-0 loss against Croatia at home during the November break to confirm advancement. This condition would secure their position in the Nations League quarter-finals scheduled for March. Spain has already guaranteed its spot in the next round.
