Eight goals in five official matches. That is Raphinha’s tally after Barcelona’s opening fixtures of the season — six in La Liga and two in the Champions League. His scoring rate stands at one goal every 49 minutes across approximately 390 minutes played.

Barcelona’s historic scoring streak

Before the Feyenoord match, he had already become the sixth player in club history to score in the first four rounds of La Liga — joining László Kubala, César Rodríguez, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Cesc Fàbregas, and Lionel Messi. Two forwards — César Rodríguez in 1950–1951 and Ibrahimović in 2009–2010 — had previously scored in the opening five league matches of a season. Raphinha, however, reached five consecutive scoring appearances across competitions, not just domestic league play.

In La Liga alone, Raphinha has registered six goals and one assist in 319 minutes. He leads the league’s scoring charts and accounts for seven of Barcelona’s 17 goals across the first four rounds — more than a third of the team’s total output.

Sport newspaper reported that his start to the season exceeds all previous campaigns in terms of scoring volume, reaching numbers he had never achieved earlier in his career. The publication noted that his figures now place him not only among the top scorers in Spain but also alongside elite forwards across Europe and globally.

Raphinha’s eight official goals lead all players across Europe’s top five leagues. In La Liga, he sits atop the scoring list with six goals — ahead of Donyell Malen and Sergio Camello, who each have five. Kylian Mbappé, Fermín López, and Lamine Yamal follow with four apiece.

Mbappé has five total goals this season, including his first Champions League strike in Real Madrid’s match against Inter Milan. Erling Haaland has also scored five — both in Manchester City’s 2–0 Champions League win over Porto. Ivan Toney, playing for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Roshn League, has matched Raphinha’s eight-goal tally — but required six matches and 515 minutes to do so.

Seven of Raphinha’s eight goals have come from open play. Only one was a penalty kick. His six La Liga goals were scored in 319 minutes — roughly one every 53 minutes. Including his two Champions League strikes, the average drops to one every 49 minutes.
