The US Federal Reserve Board kept interest rates unchanged today, Wednesday, at a range between 3.75% and 4%, in a decision that came in line with market expectations amid continuing inflationary pressures.

The Federal Open Market Committee voted by a majority of 10 votes against 2 in favor of holding rates steady, while two members preferred raising them by an additional 25 basis points. The decision comes after a similar increase in the last September meeting.

The Fed's statement indicated that inflation remains high, in light of data showing consumer prices rose by 0.6% and producer prices by 1.3% during September, driven by increases in energy prices.

Eyes are turning toward the next December meeting, amid anticipation for the monetary policy path, at a time when the Fed faces pressure from US President Donald Trump to lower interest rates, aiming to support economic growth.
