40°C Inland and Fog on the Highlands.. What's Happening with the Weather?

Forecasters at the Meteorological Department of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation predicted that Lebanon and the Eastern Mediterranean will remain under the influence of hot air masses centered over the Arabian Peninsula, with temperatures reaching 40°C in inland areas and high humidity along the coast, increasing the perceived heat. These air masses will gradually recede starting Tuesday, and the weather will become typical summer conditions by Wednesday.

They warn against direct exposure to sunlight and the risk of wildfires in forested areas.

Expected weather in Lebanon:

Sunday: Few clouds with hot and oppressive conditions, where temperatures rise along the coast, recording values above seasonal averages, while remaining stable in mountainous and inland regions. Humidity levels decrease slightly, so we warn of the risk of wildfires in forested areas.

Monday: Few clouds with stable temperatures inland and a slight drop in temperature over the mountains and along the coast.

Tuesday: Few clouds to partly cloudy with a beginning drop in temperatures, though still above seasonal averages. Fog begins to form on the highlands from the afternoon onward.

Wednesday: Few clouds with an additional temperature drop and a return to seasonal averages. Fog forms on the highlands from the afternoon onward.

Surface winds: Westerly and northwesterly during the day, weak and variable at night, with speeds between 10 and 30 km/h.

Visibility: Good.

Relative humidity along the coast: between 55% and 70%.
