5 Liters of Gasoline as Daily Transport Allowance

Labor Minister Mohammad Haidar announced after the Index Committee meeting that it was agreed to cover 5 liters of gasoline as a daily transport allowance, with a minimum cap of 500,000 Lebanese pounds if fuel prices decline, and not exceeding 800,000 Lebanese pounds if prices rise.

Regarding family allowances, Haidar noted that they will also increase, stating: "We agreed to hold continuous sessions to follow up on discussions regarding the minimum wage and end-of-service compensation, giving one month to raise the matter to the Index Committee and then to the government."

For his part, Secretary General of Economic Bodies Nicola Shammas said: "The discussion that took place today in the Index Committee is vital. We care about our people, workers, and economic security. We are victims because we bear all tax burdens."

He added: "As economic bodies, we are not responsible for war, taxes, or inflation. There must be no failure in diagnosis, nor should we enter into the structure of the economy."
