After Poisoning Cases... Ministerial Meeting on Monday to Discuss Control Measures and Regulate Slaughterhouse Operations
Following reports of food poisoning from unsafe meat, MP Farid Bastani announced a ministerial meeting scheduled for next Monday to address slaughterhouse regulations and strengthen oversight.

MP Farid Bastani announced that he contacted Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and discussed with him the issue of poisoning cases resulting from consuming unsafe meat, as well as the necessity of regulating slaughterhouse operations and tightening supervision over them to ensure meat safety and protect citizens' health.
He clarified in a post on the "X" platform that Salam informed him that a ministerial meeting will be held next Monday to discuss these two files and study the necessary procedures and measures to address them.
He indicated that he informed the Prime Minister of the readiness of the Parliamentary Committee on National Economy, Industry, Trade, and Planning, in cooperation with other parliamentary committees and the Consumer Protection Directorate, to contribute to preparing and proposing necessary draft laws and legislation if needed, aiming to close legal loopholes and enhance accountability and oversight.
He stressed that citizens' health and safety are a non-negotiable priority, considering their preservation a responsibility and a trust.
