UN Staff Member Dies in Houthi Prisons; UN Demands Investigation
The United Nations condemned the death of a staff member in Yemen while detained by the Houthis and demanded an investigation into the 'shocking' incident.

The United Nations on Saturday condemned the death of one of its staff members in Yemen while detained by the "Houthis," demanding an investigation into the "shocking" incident.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said in a statement: "The death of our Yemeni colleague, Mohammed al-Shami, while in Houthi detention was deeply shocking."
The statement added: "The High Commissioner urged the de facto Houthi authorities to ensure an immediate investigation is conducted."
The "Houthis" continue to launch attacks on areas in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Yesterday, Friday, the spokesperson for the armed forces affiliated with the Yemeni government stated that the Iran-aligned "Houthi" group launched an attack with ballistic missiles targeting Aden Airport and the Maashiq Presidential Palace complex.
Two explosions were heard in Aden, the seat of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, late Friday evening, according to residents and an AFP journalist.
The "Houthis" had targeted the vicinity of Aden Airport on Wednesday in their latest strikes, after announcing they had targeted a naval base and a camp last week amid renewed conflict in the country.
