Minister of Telecommunications Charles Al-Hajj briefed President Joseph Aoun on preparations to restore services in southern Lebanon once residents return to their villages and towns, alongside plans to expand high-speed internet across the country.

Expanding high-speed internet coverage was the focus of what Minister of Telecommunications Charles Al-Hajj summarized for President Joseph Aoun, alongside preparations related to restoring services in southern Lebanon as soon as residents return to their villages and towns. The meeting also addressed the extent of damage to the telecommunications infrastructure there, and the essential role that telecommunications play in daily life, education, healthcare, and the economy.
He said: "I briefed the president on the latest developments in the fiber-optic project, in order to expand high-speed internet coverage across various Lebanese regions, given its direct impact on economic growth, digital transformation, and job creation," noting that "in this context, the importance of connecting the fiber-optic network to all major Lebanese cities as quickly as possible was affirmed, within a national vision for advancement and recovery."
