Lebanese Tobacco Monopoly Seizes Smoked Electronic Cigarettes in Suburbs, Bekaa and Chouf
The Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Monopoly (Regie) seized quantities of smuggled electronic cigarettes, tobacco, and cigars during raids in Beirut's southern suburbs, the Bekaa Valley, and the Chouf district.

The Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Monopoly "Regie" announced that its anti-smuggling unit seized quantities of smuggled electronic cigarettes, smuggled and counterfeit tobacco, smuggled cigarettes, as well as counterfeit cigars, following raids carried out in Haret el-Salam and the Radwani area in Beirut's southern suburbs.
In recent days, the unit had also seized similar smuggled and counterfeit tobacco products in Zahlé, Bednayel, and Tamnine el-Fawqa in the Bekaa Valley, and in Batloun and Bakaaata in the Chouf region.
While reminding that these raids fall under its "ongoing efforts to combat smuggled and counterfeit tobacco products," the Regie noted that violation reports have been drawn up against offenders and are being reviewed by the competent judiciary.
The Regie renewed its call for citizens to cooperate with it in combating this phenomenon, which harms consumers and the public treasury, by reporting any suspected smuggled or counterfeit products, or locations believed to be used for their storage, via the hotline 1722, in line with the principle of "every citizen is a guard."
