Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi received, at the patriarchal seat in Bkerke, a delegation from the parishes of the Jezzine region, headed by Father Paul Al-Khond, before their transfer to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa on the occasion of the Marian month.

Father Al-Khond, in a speech delivered on behalf of the delegation, conveyed the love of the people of Jezzine and their gratitude for His Beatitude's previous visit to the south, praising his "national and spiritual role and his standing by the people in difficult circumstances."

For his part, Al-Rahi affirmed that "the Virgin Mary remains the hidden hand that protects Lebanon, and that this homeland, despite crises and wars, is preserved by God's grace and the intercession of His saints."

Al-Rahi stressed that "Lebanon is a homeland of peace and an undying message," calling for "adherence to forgiveness and love, and rejection of offense and violation of sanctities." He affirmed that "a true Christian cannot live without forgiveness, inspired by Christ on the cross and Saint Stephen."

At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Rahi wished the delegation a blessed visit to Harissa, affirming that "Bkerke is the home of all and its doors are always open."
