"And it announces the news of the signing by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV of the decree declaring him blessed today, Friday, 22 May 2026, to all Lebanese on the soil of our beloved homeland and in every country of the diaspora.
He is the seventy-second Maronite Patriarch, Patriarch of Greater Lebanon, founder of our congregation, 'the man of divine providence,' 'the holy patriarch' as his contemporaries testified.
Indeed, his declaration as blessed at this particular time is a blessing from the blessings of heaven, which divine providence willed as a sign of divine favor upon Patriarch Elias, the beloved son, the faithful priest, the zealous shepherd, and the prophetic leader, who dedicated his life to the service of God, the Church, the homeland, and humanity, every human being, without distinction between sects and religions.
With his words we pray and seek his intercession, glorifying God for the grace of his beatification, saying: 'My God, make me live and die in your good pleasure.'
