Aoun: Lebanon Has Many Opportunities... Let's Learn from the Past!
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun emphasized the need to strengthen state development presence in the Bekaa region and highlighted key national projects. He stressed unity and learning from history to secure Lebanon's future.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed before a delegation from "Bekaa Forum for Development and Loyalty" that "we are working to enhance the state's developmental presence in the Bekaa, commensurate with its needs and significance, through attention to developmental projects, especially Beirut-Bekaa, the Arab Highway, the Lebanese University complex, and care for the Litani River and its course."
He added, "I have defined the main objectives of negotiations as sparing Lebanon the horrors of war, protecting its sovereignty, stability, and national interests. I am open to any option or path that can contribute to achieving these goals, because the priority is safeguarding Lebanon and its people," noting that "facing the challenges Lebanon is undergoing can only be done through our national unity and internal solidarity."
Aoun praised "what was stated in the speech by Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri on the anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Sayyid Musa al-Sadr, particularly his emphasis on the fundamental principles of civil peace, steadfastness in upholding the army and the Taif Agreement, and considering them red lines—this message is directed first at the domestic audience before it is aimed at the outside world," stressing that "Lebanon has many opportunities ahead, and what matters is not to miss them due to narrow calculations, but to learn from the past and draw lessons from it to build a better future."
