Aoun: The Son of the South Has the Right to Build His Home, Assured It Won’t Be Destroyed
President Aoun visited southern Lebanon, reaffirming state support for residents and emphasizing the right of southern families to rebuild safely.

President of the Republic Joseph Aoun visited Nabatiyyeh and Ghazir in the south accompanied by Army Commander Rudolph Huwaila.
During the tour, President Aoun addressed the locals saying: "Your steadfastness is a greater honor on our chest, and your staying here with your families despite the war is the strongest message to the world that this society and this people are capable of rising again and standing firm forever."
He added: "We came here with security leaders to affirm our solidarity with you. The south is at the heart of the state and at the heart of Lebanon."
Aoun expressed hope that "the wounds of the south would be healed once and for all, and it is the right of every son of the south to live in safety and build his home, assured it will not be demolished or destroyed."
He stressed that "Israel, the return of prisoners, our displaced citizens, and reconstruction are national pillars that the state commits to fulfilling, and they represent a shared goal that no one disagrees upon."
In a speech directed at medical, nursing, and administrative staff at President Bris Government Hospital, Aoun said: "You are the unknown soldiers, and through your resilience, you remain able to provide medical services to our people. This is an honor on our chest and on the chest of all Lebanese, and we can only bow before your sacrifices."
