Arab League Delivers 436 Parcels of Health Aid to Lebanon

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States announced the delivery of the first batch of health support, totaling 436 parcels, to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health as part of emergency humanitarian efforts.

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States announced that "within the framework of its efforts to provide health and humanitarian support to the Ministry of Public Health in the Lebanese Republic in light of the emergency humanitarian situation, and based on the directives of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and in implementation of the decision of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Health Ministers issued at its emergency meeting dated 18/3/2026, to provide urgent needs of medicines, medical supplies, and essential materials to support the Lebanese people, the head of the Arab Center for Legal and Judicial Research affiliated with the League of Arab States in Beirut, in coordination with the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, the Ministry of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Ministry of Public Health in the Lebanese Republic, delivered the first batch of support, estimated at 436 parcels, on Monday, 18/5/2026, where the total support amounts to 609 parcels, weighing 7 tons, and the remaining support is scheduled to arrive in the Lebanese Republic in the coming days."

It affirmed in a statement that "the Council of Arab Health Ministers is keen to provide health and humanitarian support to member states suffering from crises and urgent humanitarian situations, enhancing their ability to face the challenges and difficulties they encounter."

The Lebanese delegation also expressed thanks during the 64th regular session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers in Geneva to the League of Arab States, the Council of Arab Health Ministers, and the Ministry of Health and Population in Egypt, for the ongoing cooperation and coordination to provide and deliver health aid in support of the Lebanese health sector, from the account of the Arab Fund for Health Development, in line with the goals of the Council of Arab Health Ministers to improve the efficiency of health systems in member states to enhance their ability to provide high-quality health services to their citizens in accordance with international standards.
