Army Commander Concludes Visit to Pakistan to Strengthen Military Cooperation and Training
Army Commander Brigadier General Rudolf Heikal completed a visit to Pakistan to discuss regional security and enhance bilateral military cooperation and training.

Brigadier General Rudolf Heikal, the Army Commander, concluded his visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which lasted from June 6 to June 9, 2026. The visit was conducted at the official invitation of his Pakistani counterpart, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Commander of the Pakistan Defence Forces.
The visit began at the Pakistan Army headquarters with an honor ceremony performed by a joint unit comprising the Pakistani land, naval, and air forces.
Following the ceremony, Brigadier General Heikal met with Field Marshal Munir to discuss regional developments and issues of mutual interest, particularly those related to security and defense.
Field Marshal Munir emphasized the importance of the historical relations between the two countries. Brigadier General Heikal highlighted the professionalism of the Pakistani army, its role in promoting regional security and stability, and its efforts in maintaining international peace.
An expanded meeting followed, including Field Marshal Munir, Brigadier General Heikal, and officers from both sides. The discussions focused on ways to enhance cooperation between the two armies, especially in training, as well as supporting the army amid current challenges.
Additionally, the Army Commander visited several military companies and factories, where he reviewed defense innovation technologies and ongoing industrial capabilities. The visit also covered areas of shared interest and potential opportunities for future collaboration.
