Autumnal Weather Fluctuations Hit Lebanon with Fog on the Highlands
The Lebanese Meteorological Directorate forecasts unstable autumn weather across Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin, featuring fog on highlands, scattered rain, active winds, and potential thunderstorms until Sunday.
The Estimation Department of the Meteorological Service at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation predicted that tomorrow's weather would be partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy with fog on the highlands and stable temperatures. Scattered rains will fall, occasionally intensifying, accompanied by active winds with a possibility of lightning and thunder.
The bulletin stated as follows:
- General Situation: Unstable autumn weather prevails over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin due to the influence of a low-pressure system centered southwest of Turkey, leading to variable and sometimes rainy weather with active winds and a chance of lightning and thunder. This continues until Sunday when it stabilizes temporarily, then turns unstable again on Monday.
- Expected Weather in Lebanon:
Thursday: Partly cloudy with fog on the highlands and a slight drop in temperatures. Scattered rains will fall occasionally with active winds and a possibility of lightning and thunder, interspersed with clearings during the day.
Friday: Partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy with fog on the highlands and stable temperatures. Scattered rains will fall, occasionally intensifying, accompanied by active winds with a possibility of lightning and thunder.
Saturday: Partly cloudy with fog on the highlands and a slight rise in temperatures. Light scattered rains will fall occasionally during the day, followed by wide clearings, then the weather gradually stabilizes during the night.
Sunday: Partly cloudy to slightly cloudy with an additional rise in temperatures, especially over the mountains and inland.
- Temperatures on the coast range from 18 to 28 degrees, over the mountains from 12 to 21 degrees, and inland from 13 to 26 degrees.
- Surface Winds: Active southwesterly, speeds between 15 and 45 km/h.
- Visibility: Moderate on the coast, sometimes poor on the highlands due to fog.
