Before boarding the plane... Security arrests bank employees who embezzled millions
The General Directorate of General Security arrested two bank employees as they attempted to leave Lebanon, after they embezzled a large sum of money and tried to flee the country.

Issued by the Media Affairs Office of General Security the following:
"On 2026/05/15, the General Directorate of General Security obtained information regarding one of the employees of banks operating in Lebanon embezzling a sum of money and going into hiding, with the possibility of attempting to leave the country.
As a result of careful follow-up and intensive investigations, the identities of the suspects were identified, and both "H. Sh." and "A. A." were arrested while attempting to leave Lebanese territory towards one of the Arab countries, where they were apprehended inside the airport premises just before boarding the plane.
During interrogation, they confessed to what was attributed to them, and that they had deposited the stolen money with the wife of the individual named "A. A." with the aim of hiding it and concealing its path, which led to the full unraveling of the operation's threads and the identification of all those involved successively, preventing them from fleeing or disposing of the stolen money. They were referred along with the seized items to the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal action against them."
