Beginning of Biometric Passport Applications for Lebanese in America

Issued by the Public Relations Office of the General Security:

"As part of the efforts undertaken by the General Directorate of Security to facilitate procedures for Lebanese residing abroad, the Director General of Security led a technical delegation to the United States, where the Directorate equipped the Lebanese Embassy in Washington and the General Consulate in Detroit with the necessary systems and equipment to receive applications for Lebanese biometric passports, and trained the relevant staff in their use.

The General Directorate of Security has begun accepting biometric passport applications from Lebanese residents in the United States starting September 21, 2026, without requiring their physical presence in Lebanon."
