Finance Minister Yassine Jaber noted the effective coordination between the Customs Administration and the Directorate General of General Security, which resulted in the largest drug seizure in the history of Rafic Hariri International Airport. He affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation and information exchange among agencies to protect Lebanon and ensure societal safety.

Jaber praised the efforts of Customs police officers who uncovered complex concealment and camouflage methods, thwarting an attempt to smuggle a cocaine shipment prepared professionally to evade detection by scanner devices.

He confirmed that customs appointments come within the context of activating customs work, enhancing oversight at land, sea, and air crossings, and intensifying the pursuit of smuggling networks domestically. He stressed that the responsibility of Customs includes protecting citizens' health and safety, as well as safeguarding the rights of the Treasury and the national economy. He added that enhancing Customs effectiveness and integration with relevant agencies contribute to protecting Lebanon's reputation abroad and consolidating confidence in its ability to control its borders and combat smuggling and organized crime.
