Beirut Traffic Unit Seizes 1986 Motorcycles and 231 Cars in Safety Campaign

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:

In continuation of measures aimed at enhancing road safety, pursuant to the decision by Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmed Al-Hajjar to tighten enforcement of traffic violations in Beirut and combat offenses, especially those committed by motorcycle riders, the Beirut Traffic Unit of the Beirut Police Department has maintained its field campaigns across the capital.

During this period, temporary and permanent checkpoints were established, resulting in the seizure of 1,986 motorcycles and 231 violating cars, along with the issuance of 11,085 violation reports. These actions covered the timeframe from 01-07-2026 to 18-07-2026.

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces confirms its ongoing commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and urges citizens to regularize their vehicle legal status and comply with applicable laws and regulations to preserve public safety.
