Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri cabled Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi congratulating him on his government's confidence vote in the Parliament. The text of the cable read:
"Your Excellency, Mr. Ali al-Zaidi, Prime Minister of Iraq,
Greetings,
It gives me pleasure, on my behalf and on behalf of the Parliament, to extend to you my warmest congratulations on the occasion of your government's confidence vote in the Iraqi Parliament, wishing you and the esteemed ministers, members of the government, success and achievement in performing your ministerial duties, in a way that realizes for the brotherly Iraqi people their hopes and aspirations for progress, prosperity, stability, and flourishing.
Speaker Berri added: "I also take this opportunity to renew the deep gratitude and appreciation of the Lebanese people, through you, to the brotherly Iraqi people, government and wise leadership, for their constant standing by Lebanon and supporting it in various fields, especially in the current stage in which Lebanon and the Lebanese are subjected to continuous Israeli aggression, targeting stone and human and all elements of life in it."
