Bilateral Meeting Between Al-Hajjar and His Pakistani Counterpart to Discuss Ways to Strengthen Relations

Lebanese Minister of the Interior and Municipalities Ahmad al-Hajjar held a bilateral meeting with Pakistan's Minister of Interior and Anti-Narcotics Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad, discussing Lebanese-Pakistani relations and ways to strengthen them, particularly at the security level given Lebanon's current situation and continued Israeli attacks in the south.

Security coordination between relevant institutions in both countries formed a central theme of the extensive talks, which included Lebanon's Ambassador to Pakistan Abdulaziz Ayyash, General Director of Internal Security Forces Colonel Raed Abdullah, Secretary-General of the Central Internal Security Council Colonel Sami Nassif, and Head of the Intelligence Branch of the Internal Security Forces Colonel Mahmoud Qabarsli.

The two ministers, al-Hajjar and Naqvi, discussed shared security challenges, regional and international developments, and their impact on national security and stability, alongside measures to enhance cooperation between the interior ministries, develop an operational mechanism for coordination, exchange of expertise and information, contributing to strengthening institutional capacities and addressing emerging security challenges.

Al-Hajjar emphasized that "security cooperation constitutes a fundamental pillar in safeguarding stability and enhancing the ability of security institutions to confront shared challenges."

They also exchanged views on several regional and international issues, reaffirming their commitment to continue consultations and coordination on matters of mutual interest and to strengthen efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability.
