What Was Discussed Between Al-Hajjar and Pakistan's Prime Minister?

Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmed al-Hajjar met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shabbaz Sharif during his official visit to Islamabad.

During the meeting, Minister al-Hajjar conveyed greetings from Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, affirming Lebanon's desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Pakistan and enhance relations between the two countries across various fields, particularly in security, serving mutual interests and reinforcing coordination in facing existing regional challenges.

Sharif welcomed al-Hajjar, emphasizing the importance of strengthening fraternal ties between the two nations, and extended warm wishes to the Lebanese leadership.

Sharif strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, reaffirming Pakistan's steadfast solidarity with Lebanon and its people during these difficult times, and supporting Lebanon's sovereignty and security.

On the Pakistani side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Interior and Anti-Narcotics Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Housing Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada, and State Minister for Interior Talaat Chaudhry.

On the Lebanese side, the attendees included Lebanon's Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz Ayyash, General Director of Internal Security Forces Colonel Raed Abdullah, Secretary-General of the Central Internal Security Council Colonel Sami Nassif, and Head of the Intelligence Branch of the Internal Security Forces Colonel Mahmoud Qaboulsi.

At the conclusion of the meeting, al-Hajjar signed on behalf of Lebanon and Naqvi on behalf of Pakistan, in the presence of Sharif, a memorandum of understanding between the Republics of Lebanon and Pakistan regarding prisoner exchange, under the auspices of the Lebanese Ministry of Justice.
