Birds' Threat to Aviation Safety on the Table at Hajjar's
Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajjar convened a meeting to address measures against bird-related aviation risks near Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport.

Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajjar held a meeting attended by Mount Lebanon Governor Judge Muhammad Mkaoui, Commander of the Security Force at Rafic Hariri International Airport – Beirut Colonel Fadi Kfoury, and Commander of Mount Lebanon Region in Internal Security Forces Colonel Abdou Khalil, dedicated to discussing measures taken to reduce the risk posed by birds to air traffic around Rafic Hariri International Airport – Beirut.
Minister Hajjar emphasized "the necessity of implementing Cabinet decisions on this matter immediately and effectively," and tasked the responsible parties "to work within their respective jurisdictions."
In this context, the Airport Security Force is responsible for taking required actions within the airport premises, while the Mount Lebanon Governor and the General Directorate of Internal Security are responsible for implementing necessary measures outside the airport, in coordination with municipalities, relevant ministries, and, when needed, the competent judiciary; the governor will hold periodic meetings to monitor the proper implementation.
