Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi Calls to Prevent War Threat in Lebanon

Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, the Maronite Patriarch, emphasized that Lebanon should not be a price for any international or regional agreement nor a ground for settling scores, but rather a message of peace. He expressed hope that the ongoing efforts involving the United States, Lebanon, and Israel would lead to an agreement that removes the threat of war from Lebanon.

In his Sunday sermon delivered in Deir El Qamar, the Patriarch called for prayers to God to grant Lebanon honest statesmen dedicated to the public good. He noted that Lebanon has a great potential harvest but requires men and women who sincerely carry the message of the homeland.
