From the village of Baakafra, where a divine liturgy was held to celebrate the Feast of Saint Charbel, Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai stated, "We know that the president's intentions are good, and all Lebanese stand with him. We pray for his success as he works for the country's benefit."

When asked by MTV about his message to Hezbollah, Rai responded, "Dialogue is necessary, and we understand them, but they need to calm down. We support the president in all his proposals; we have had enough wars and desire peace."
