Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rassamni held an expanded meeting with ministry contractors, attended by officials and relevant personnel, as part of early preparations for the winter season and enhancing readiness across Lebanese territories.

The meeting addressed the winter preparedness plan, particularly cleaning and rehabilitation works on roads, channels, sewers, and stormwater drains, ensuring their readiness before the rainy season begins, contributing to reducing risks of water accumulation, flash floods, and road closures.

Rassamni listened to contractors' demands and observations regarding work progress, challenges they face, and files requiring follow-up and acceleration within legal and administrative frameworks, which would facilitate project implementation and ensure continuity of maintenance and required readiness.

He also instructed concerned departments and contractors to expedite required works, ensure full field readiness of teams and machinery, and strengthen coordination with regional directorates, enabling rapid response to any emergency or on-ground issue.

In this context, Rassamni emphasized "adopting proactive measures for critical sites and locations that may encounter problems during the winter season, completing cleaning and maintenance works before rainfall begins, thereby minimizing damages and ensuring citizen safety and uninterrupted traffic flow on roads."

Rassamni also met with Member of Parliament Nadiem al-Jumailly, accompanied by a delegation from the Fishermen's Union, discussing the situation of fishermen, their demands, and issues related to the marine fishing sector.

He also discussed regional development matters with MP Raed Brou.

Additionally, he met with a delegation from Ibleh al-Saqi Municipality, where discussions focused on service and development conditions addressed by the ministry.
