The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced in a statement that it "completed, under the directives of Minister Fayez Rasamny and with the follow-up of the Regional Directorate of Public Works in the South, the asphalt paving works for two temporary crossings in Burj Rahal and Tirelfisiya, as part of urgent interventions to address damages inflicted on the road and bridge network in the South, and to secure movement along vital axes.

The works included paving the temporary crossing passage on the international road at the Burj Rahal Bridge, by laying and compacting the asphalt layer, to improve traffic conditions on this axis until permanent remediation of the damaged infrastructure is completed.

Additionally, the paving of the temporary crossing passage over the Litani River in the Tirelfisiya area was completed, at the February 6 Bridge, which serves as an interim alternative to the damaged bridge, thereby facilitating the movement of residents and vehicles between areas located on both banks of the river."

In this context, the ministry called on "drivers, especially those passing through the Burj Rahal Bridge, to exercise maximum caution, reduce speed, take into account the narrowness of the temporary passage, and adhere to traffic signs and safety instructions, to preserve their safety and that of other road users."

It affirmed "the continuation of implementing necessary interventions on damaged roads and bridges, according to field priorities, paving the way for completing permanent solutions and enhancing connectivity between southern regions."
