Is the Lebanese Side Planning to Boycott the Negotiations?

Although the seventh round of talks between Lebanon and Israel, hosted in Rome, ended without an agreement on establishing new trial zones, all concerned parties continue their efforts to achieve a breakthrough in this area ahead of the anticipated eighth round in September.

A political source following the developments told "Nidaa al-Watan" that contrary to what is being circulated, the Lebanese side does not intend to boycott the negotiations and insists on completing this process to its conclusion, as the alternative would be catastrophic for Lebanon and its people. At the same time, it remains firm in its positions and demands presented by the Lebanese delegation during recent sessions, which will be conveyed to General American Joseph Clift, head of the Military Coordination Committee, during his upcoming visit to Beirut to discuss the ceasefire and trial zones.
