Lebanese diplomatic sources confirmed that officials in the American Mechanism Committee informed Lebanon that US President Donald Trump will work to push for the completion of political negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, aiming to achieve advanced steps in implementing the framework agreement after the midterm elections.

The sources added that Washington will resume working on developing pathways to reactivate "pilot areas" again between Lebanon and Israel.

Lebanese diplomatic sources told "Erem News" that Washington simultaneously needs to stand with Beirut on formulating a practical plan linked to the Lebanese Army moving more broadly in the process of disarming the Hezbollah militia.

The Lebanese sources clarified that the most critical curve facing the US administration in this work, regardless of the midterm election results, is separating the Lebanese file from any negotiations through which Tehran seeks to link fronts.

This comes at a time when Tehran insists, during ongoing communications via intermediaries with Washington, on linking the ceasefire on the Lebanese front to any signed agreement.

In parallel, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that both the Iranian and American parties are showing commitment to the negotiation track, noting "developments" in talks between the two sides.

A Lebanese diplomat familiar with the US role in negotiations between Beirut and Tel Aviv states that the United States is working through a team emerging from the Mechanism to reach a verification mechanism regarding Hezbollah's disarmament, with standards that do not involve an Israeli presence on the ground monitoring it, and within a tracking framework acceptable to Tel Aviv.

The Lebanese diplomat added to "Erem News" that Trump wants to proceed actively with implementing the framework agreement, paving the way for practical steps to disarm Hezbollah.

He pointed out that among the most prominent obstacles to this path is the future of security in southern Lebanon, following the departure of UNIFIL forces whose mandate ends in less than two months without reaching a formula for replacement forces.
