Israeli Army Discovers Tunnel Maps in Southern Lebanon
The Israeli army reports uncovering maps illustrating tunnel threats beneath the Bofor mountain range in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army announced that it is continuing to clear an underground tunnel network spread beneath the Bofor (Al-Shaqif) mountain range. The military claimed to have found maps depicting the threat posed by these tunnels to northern towns.
According to the Israeli army spokesperson Ella Wawe, who wrote on Axios, "Forces from the 36th Division are intensifying the clearing of the underground tunnel network beneath the Bofor (Al-Shaqif) mountain range, which was planned and funded by the Iranian regime. On one of the walls inside the underground passage where militants who attempted to escape were located—and who were eliminated from the air a few days ago—maps were found that geographically oversee our northern towns."
She added that the Israeli army launched this operation to gain operational control over the area that poses a threat to Israeli citizens and to destroy the tunnel networks.
