Israel conducted a nighttime strike on Hezbollah's main command center in Ansar, southern Lebanon, in response to a recent attack by the group. The operation targeted Ali Simeer al-Hajj Hassan, a senior Hezbollah commander.

The Israeli military spokesperson stated that "the Israeli army attacked a primary command headquarters affiliated with Hezbollah in the Ansar area of southern Lebanon during the night hours (Saturday) in response to an operation carried out by Hezbollah against us in the security zone according to the ceasefire agreement."
She added via her account on the platform "X," that the command center was used by "the party" to oversee activities in the region, noting that "as part of the operation, we targeted Ali Simeer Hajj Hassan, who was a sector commander in Hezbollah's 'Force of Al-Radwan.' Alongside him, we targeted others involved in carrying out operations against us in the security zone."
She continued: "During the targeting of the command center, members of the aforementioned Hassan family were present at the military facility, reportedly injured as a result of the strike. We emphasize that family members were not targets of the operation. The strike was precisely directed at the aforementioned terrorist Hassan, who was a legitimate target under international law. The individual in question used his family members as human shields and concealed himself among them inside the military command center."
She concluded: "The Israeli army will not allow Hezbollah to attack citizens of the State of Israel and its forces, and will continue its operations aimed at eliminating threats."
