An Israeli military source told Maariv newspaper that the Israeli army is currently compiling an extensive list of targets in preparation for attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut. These actions are intended as a response to Hezbollah's violations of the ceasefire.

The source revealed to Maariv that the planned targets are concentrated in three main Hezbollah strongholds:

- Human targets: This includes a long list of senior Hezbollah leaders and officials, most notably the party’s Secretary-General, Sheikh Naeem Qassem.

- Command and control infrastructure: This category covers Hezbollah’s headquarters, communication rooms, and control centers. The Israeli army aims to disrupt Hezbollah’s command and control chain by striking these sites. It is aware that Hezbollah leaders operate from bases in the southern suburbs and the Beqaa Valley, issuing orders to forward bases in the cities of Tyre and Sidon, which then launch rocket attacks against Israeli forces and territory.

- Weapons and technology storage: This includes weapon and missile depots, residential apartments where Hezbollah conceals various missiles, as well as drone storage facilities, laboratories, and technological systems used by the party in its military operations.

The military source also noted to Maariv that it remains unclear what level of political authorization the Israeli army has received. It is not yet determined whether the planned strikes will be limited and symbolic or if they will constitute a broad military operation aimed at inflicting significant damage on Hezbollah’s key centers in Lebanon.
