Israeli Army Announces Discovery of Hezbollah Weapons Depots Near UNIFIL Positions
The Israeli military announced the discovery of two Hezbollah weapons caches located within 200 meters of a United Nations position in Mays al-Jabal, alongside operational apartments near other UN sites.
Spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces in Arabic, Ella Wawiya, wrote via the "X" platform:
During activity by forces from the Combat Team of the “Oded” Brigade (9) in the town of Mays al-Jabal, troops discovered two depots containing equipment and combat means. One was inside a civilian home located approximately 200 meters from a United Nations site, and the other was inside a warehouse located approximately 100 meters from the site. Among the combat means found were Kalashnikov rifles, rocket shells and RPG launchers, a PK machine gun, high-explosive hand grenades, an improvised explosive device, ammunition, and communication and reconnaissance means. All of this was alongside humanitarian aid boxes and slogans and symbols belonging to the terrorist movements Amal and Hezbollah."
She continued: "In addition, during activity by forces from the Combat Team of the Kfir Brigade in the town of Al-Tiri, an operational apartment was found located approximately 250 meters from a United Nations site. It contained reconnaissance means, combat equipment, living equipment, and slogans and symbols belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah. This constitutes additional evidence that UNIFIL forces have failed to perform their mission, and regarding the cynical exploitation practiced by terrorist organizations due to UNIFIL's inaction. The IDF will not allow the Hezbollah organization to harm citizens of the State of Israel or its forces, and will continue to work to remove threats while adhering to the ceasefire agreement."
