An Israeli soldier sustained serious injuries during clashes with militants in the security zone south of Lebanon, the Israeli army reported Friday morning.

An Israeli soldier was seriously injured in a confrontation with armed militants in the security zone in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military announced on Friday morning.
The incident occurred yesterday at 6 p.m. in the town of Bent Jbeil, located within the Israeli security zone, approximately 4.5 kilometers from the Avivim settlement. Following the clash, an Israeli army tank fired at nearby buildings as part of an operation to isolate the area and eliminate the militants, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation.
Last Friday, four soldiers from the Givati Brigade suffered moderate to minor injuries during an exchange with a Hezbollah member who threw a hand grenade at the unit. This event took place in the village of Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon.
