MP Ibrahim Kanaan wrote via the "X" platform: "Bkerke and its Patriarch embody the conscience of Lebanon, its sovereignty, state, and partnership. Any offense to religious figures and symbols in Lebanon is a mistake that amounts to a sin. Any transgression is rejected and must be retracted and apologized for. Political disagreement, no matter its extent, should not lead to crossing red lines. May God have mercy on Patriarch Sfeir who said: "Bkerke, from one struggle to another, neither its oil nor its light diminished. Everyone else speaks Turkish, but Bkerke speaks the truth."
