Karami: We Need to Direct Our Capabilities Toward Reviving Our Country

Minister of Education and Higher Education Riya Karami signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Rami al-Laqis, president of the Lebanese Association for Studies and Training, in the presence of Georges Daoud, director of basic education, Khalid Fayad, director of secondary education, and teams from the association and the minister. The memorandum aimed to establish frameworks for cooperation and partnership between both parties to support and enhance the quality of education, strengthen learners’ and teachers’ skills, implement educational programs and projects aligned with the ministry’s vision and strategic plans, expand access to quality education, and contribute to supporting the teaching and learning Hubs initiative.

After signing and exchanging copies, Dr. al-Laqis spoke about the importance of partnership in education and stated that "the minister today awarded the association a badge proving it is worthy of responsibility." He emphasized that "the public school is the national institution deserving of building the nation and contributing to its revival," and thanked the minister for "the moral momentum she provided to the association, which now motivates it to fulfill its duties."

Minister Karami spoke, welcoming the association’s president and his delegation, expressing her "satisfaction at embarking on this partnership path, which has been underway for a long time and has achieved numerous accomplishments." She affirmed that "this joint effort has given the ministry momentum, especially since we, as a ministry, are working to restore trust by demonstrating our capability and readiness to play our role as an authority setting standards, coordinating efforts, and attracting any assistance capable of achieving our strategic goals."

She added: "Our country needs coordinated efforts and the direction of our capabilities toward reviving our nation, and your association has proven it possesses all the necessary qualities and is capable of meeting these challenges."
