Lebanese Intelligence Unit Arrests Australian Drug Baron “Junior” in Night Raid

Lebanon’s Information Branch carried out a nighttime security operation targeting a transnational cocaine trafficking network, detaining multiple high-profile suspects wanted for drug trafficking and money laundering. Among those arrested was J.D., known by the alias “Junior,” identified as one of Australia’s most prominent narcotics traffickers and designated “Priority Organisational Target 5” (APOT) by Australian law enforcement agencies.

The operation followed a judicial order issued in Lebanon, grounded in an international arrest warrant circulated via Interpol at the request of Australian judicial authorities. That Interpol notice was issued after Australian authorities detained and interrogated members of the same network within Australia.

How the network operated across continents

According to sources cited by MTV, the detained individuals had fled to Lebanon more than three years ago, following the exposure of their operations in Australia. Their trafficking activities involved smuggling cocaine from countries in South America and South Asia into Australia.

The substance at the center of the network’s illicit trade was confirmed to be cocaine. The Lebanese arrests mark a cross-jurisdictional enforcement action directly linked to the earlier Australian investigations and judicial proceedings.
