Lebanon Condemns Houthi Threats Against Saudi Arabia and Regional Attacks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a strong condemnation of the threats made by the Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the threat to impose a maritime blockade through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. The ministry described these threats as a blatant violation of international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, specifically resolutions 2722 (2024) and 2216 (2015).

In an official statement, the ministry reiterated the importance of respecting freedom of navigation and the full implementation of international resolutions to ensure support for Yemen’s legitimate government and the withdrawal of the Houthis from the areas they have seized.

The ministry also condemned recent Iranian attacks targeting the territories of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait. These attacks were characterized as violations of the sovereignty of these countries and threats to regional security and stability.

Lebanon affirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, expressing support for all measures these countries undertake to defend their sovereignty and safeguard their security and stability.
