Lebanon's General Labor Union announced plans to revisit Decree 3214 following discussions with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam amid concerns over its impact.

The General Labor Union in Lebanon issued a statement declaring that after extensive and constructive consultations with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, a decision was made to reconsider Decree 3214 concerning price increases.
The Union will meet with government officials at the Grand Serail on Monday, 29/6/2026, to develop a comprehensive plan addressing the severe consequences of this decree. This will be followed by a thorough review during the upcoming Cabinet session scheduled for Thursday, 2/7/2026.
Additionally, contact has been established with the Minister of Environment to avoid imposing burdens on the Lebanese people beyond their capacity, describing the decree as unfair and unjust to all segments of the population amid dire economic and social conditions.
The Union also expressed gratitude to the head of the Parliamentary Economic Committee, MP Farid Al-Bustani, for his prompt action in calling an urgent meeting of the National Economic Committee on Tuesday, inviting the General Labor Union to participate in addressing the decree's implications.
