Raid Reveals Disaster: 8 Tons of Cheese Made with Hydrogenated Oils
A joint operation uncovered 8 tons of cheese produced using hydrogenated oils and frozen substances instead of milk, violating health standards in three unlicensed dairy factories in Qabb Ilias.

As part of its mandate to support public administrations and protect society, following monitoring and surveillance, and under instructions from the General Director of Customs, and under the supervision of the Public Prosecution Appeal Court in the Bekaa region,

a team from the Shatoura Customs Office, accompanied by inspectors from the Ministries of Economy and Agriculture, conducted a raid on three unauthorized cheese and dairy production facilities in Qabb Ilias, which were found to be using substitutes and hydrogenated oils, as well as frozen, unapproved ingredients instead of milk to produce non-compliant products.

A large quantity of materials and products, weighing approximately 8 tons, was seized and destroyed, and the facilities were sealed with red wax as directed by the Public Prosecution.
