Mansour and his Serbian counterpart discuss principles of 'non-alignment'

Lebanese Minister of National Defense Michel Mansour met with Defense Minister of the Republic of Serbia Bratislav Gashić at the Serbian Ministry of Defense in Belgrade, with the presence of Lebanon's Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia Youssef Jabr. The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in defense and military fields.

The discussion highlighted the importance of upholding the principles established by the Non-Aligned Movement, foremost among them respecting state sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, refraining from interference in internal affairs, and relying on dialogue and peaceful means to resolve conflicts—contributing to enhanced security and stability. In this context, Mansour affirmed Lebanon's commitment to these principles, stressing the "need to safeguard its sovereignty, support its legitimate institutions, strengthen the role of the Lebanese Army, and enable the state to exercise authority over its entire territory, thereby reinforcing stability and paving the way for achieving security and peace."
