Minister Rassamni Welcomes Ziad Al-Malla After Sky Lounges Wins Qleiat Airport Tender

Fayez Rassamni, Lebanon's Minister of Public Works and Transport, met today with Ziad Al-Malla, Chairman of Sky Lounges Services, after the company won the tender to operate and invest in President Rene Mouawad Airport – Qleiat.

The meeting, according to a statement from the minister's media office, was held to follow up on the process of reopening a civil airport in northern Lebanon, representing a key step toward activating air facilities and strengthening the transport infrastructure in the country.

Both parties emphasized that the project fits within a national strategic vision to develop Lebanon's air transport sector and enhance its operational and logistical capabilities. This development is expected to generate economic growth, create direct and indirect job opportunities, stimulate investment activity, and support development in areas surrounding the airport.

The project is considered a vital initiative aimed at reinforcing northern Lebanon's position as a central hub in the transport and services sector.
