Ministry of Communications: Electricity Bills Referred to Finance, Only Transfer Credits Remain
The Ministry of Communications stated that all electricity bills have been referred to the Ministry of Finance, with only transfer credits for 2023 and 2024 remaining pending approval.

The Ministry of Communications stated in a statement commenting on the decision by Electricité du Liban (EDL) to cut power to official institutions that had not paid their electricity consumption bills, that it "has referred to the Ministry of Finance all the bills it received, audited, and settled according to regulations, amounting to $5 million and $199 thousand, in addition to sending bills worth $1 million and $275 thousand to be paid from the Treasury advance issued under Decree No. 12816."
It confirmed that "only some bills for the years 2023 and 2024 remain, awaiting a decision on the request for transferring the necessary credits submitted by the Ministry of Communications on July 13, 2026, to the Ministry of Finance, given the lack of available credits in previous budgets. It is noted that Alfa and Touch companies, as well as Ogero, regularly pay their bills without delay, under the direct supervision of the Minister of Communications."
