Lebanon Electricity Begins Cutting Power to Public Agencies in Arrears
The board of directors of Lebanon's electricity company announced the start of power cuts to public institutions and municipalities that have failed to pay their dues.

The Board of Directors of Electricite du Liban issued the following statement:
"In implementation of the Board's decision to cut off electricity supply to government departments, public institutions, and municipalities that are delinquent in paying their dues, and which have not even initiated contact with Electricite du Liban to settle their status, the Company began this morning updating the subscription lists for these entities and issued the necessary directives to implement the disconnections.
The Board thanks the media outlets that followed this campaign positively and highlighted it, urging them to exercise accuracy in publishing the names of the entities included in the disconnection and to strictly adhere to what is issued by the Board, to avoid causing confusion.
The Board will later issue a statement clarifying the developments of this day and the results of the measures taken. This is for information."
